PB&J Protein Donut
A homemade air fryer donut recipe, with a PB&J center, vanilla protein batter, and chocolate protein frosting. This is an easy recipe, packed with fiber and 30g of protein and minimal sugar! Completely vegan too!
The Story:
What do you get when you mix healthy PB&J sandwiches and the cleanest vegan protein powder? If you guessed a giant donut with frosting, well then you’re very intuitive, and probably very hungry.
Honestly I was skeptic until my first bite, where I said audibly holy sh** that’s good.
Turns out the Chubby PB&J’s make the ultimate inside of a donut, and Wellious makes a heck of batter and maybe the healthiest/tastiest icing that’s ever existed.
The craziest part is that this Donut is not only guilt free, but it’s also a bit of a super-snack, with 30g of protein and 14g of fiber. Watch out Dunkin, we’re coming for ya!!
DIRECTIONS:
Combine dry ingredients from batter in a bowl and whisk together.
Combine wet ingredients from batter in separate bowl, mix, then pour into dry batter and mix with a fork. It should be like a thick pancake batter. Add a drop more almond milk if it’s too dry.
Batter the chubby so that all sides are covered.
Put in an air fryer at 400 degrees for 7 minutes.
While it cooks, make the icing by combing wellious with the almond milk, mix with a fork until the right consistency of thick frosting.
Take out the doughnut, and spread the icing on top.
